the 9th stone. i am changing the title of the posts to aros #(date) from today. aros is, of course, a river of stones. :)


dogs barking


3 a.m.
nine floors below
in the streets
the dogs are barking
primordial
frenzied
they must have seen
ghosts or thieves
or
just shadows
and
i
sitting
on the edge
of the bed
in the dark
looking out
at a mottled
sky
too awake
to
get back
to sleep
again
