I can see how, coming with 'outside' eyes, you could find such images here. Although I can't see this with Indigenous eyes, I have great reverence for Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarra's work — he has been so famous here for so long — so I automatically look deeper and didn't even notice that instant impression you had until I read the words; I was taking in more of the fine details.

These artworks were on an exhibition at our National Gallery Singapore last year. Yes, I can't see this with indigenous eyes, but i try to understand why such colours were used over others, and i liked the natural pigments they used. Sure, it was different from say, Chinese ink paintings, western oils, but true art nonetheless.
I have not heard of Clifford Possum Tjapaltjarra before this, but now i have. :)
