a single flower
peeps from a crack
in the asphalt
a button-weed
nondescript
as the morning sun
flexes its muscles
gears up for war
the single flower
digs in, prepares
to defend
the long day

it's draining, and i am just hanging on. i hope to last the distance, it's the halfway mark already. :)
i live in the tropics so it's always warm whole year round.
