Art, Random - # 5

Ramdom artworks I find in the streets, underpasses, parks. No transit stations. No museums. Well, sometimes.
They would include paintings, murals, sculptures, statues, structures, and temporary installations.

Well, you wander into a school and wonder at what these kids can paint.

luscious and firm
like you in life.

Art, Random - # 4

Ramdom artworks I find in the streets, underpasses, parks. No transit stations. No museums. Well, sometimes.
They would include paintings, murals, sculptures, statues, structures, and temporary installations.

Paint residue rolled into tiny rosettes, cut and sliced and reattached onto the canvas.

SingPoWriMo 2023 Day #9

SingPoWriMo 2023 Day 9

The prompt is "birth".

beating the odds

Nobody wants you, man. Others don't care. You don't have rich parents. Or friends. You are a pariah. A cat with no claws. You can't kill yourself, even if you wanted to. So why should you be born? Like getting sucked into a black hole right away. Or you limbs pulled apart by predators. Scared now? Still thinking about birth? Okay!

But Singapore, you beat the damn odds!

today we are voting for a new government

Crunch time.

today we are voting for a new government

Today, we are voting for a new government, and I have marked my opinion early in the morning. Does my X really matter? Aren't we all goldfishes in a pretty bowl, swimming over the same old spaces? Do goldfishes have a view on politics? Or poetry?

Aren't we also ants, running in a neat line along the kitchen countertop? Do ants deliberate about the coronavirus, loss of jobs, and the laws that are shoved down our throats? Do they prefer the colours white, or others?

Perhaps my X really matters, because all these add up, these are our collective voices, angry or meek. Tonight, or early tomorrow morning, we will know then, if the glass in the goldfish bowl has cracked.

"Do you ever ask your goldfish for their views on goldfish poetry or politics. Does a termite thinks that a woman's place is in the house? Do beavers prefer blondes or brunettes?"
