shiki kukai - dog

The theme for the December Free Format section of the monthly kukai at haikuworld was "dog". Well, it seemed like a straight-forward theme, no problem with that at all. But it took me a few days to come out with a measly one haiku.

At least it gathered 6 votes. :)

NaPoWriMo 2013, Day #4 - hachiko, the dog who waited

Today's inspiration comes from a photo my daughter took while in Japan. When she was in Tokyo, I told her, please, get me a picture of Hachiko's statue.

I have had dogs before, and I can understand why they are called man's best friend...
