NaPoWriMo 2013, Day #13 - early morning transport

Going back home after finishing work in the early ours is a bother...

early morning transport

it's 5 a.m. +
and all i am thinking is home.
but the taxis won't stop.
the drivers see
a single male
with a bag
and just speed on.

perhaps it was the bag.

after the 4th
uncooperative cab or so,
the first bus of the day comes,
it's headlights flaring.
it stops
when flagged.
the driver
is sullen,
a couple of passengers
laid in the seats
like dead fishes.

but really it's okay.

Cabbies can be choosey. At that hour, you have wonder if they don't stop. Bag... plastic bag? Funny that reminds me of a lecturer who used to go around with plastic bag, and we thought he was strange. (Other lecturers carry folders or proper bags) :D

I like the bit about passengers lying about on seats like dead fishes. Very vivid description I think! I imagine those whose eyes are open are in that sort of daze.

about the bag. it's not a plastic bag, it's a small sling bag (the ones in the movies the loan shark runners always carry) :D

i think at that hour, most of us are pretty dazed. i had just finished work, having been called back for an emergency.
